As a side dish, this one is superb… it delivers great color, has a taste that many people enjoy without a second’s thought and is easy to prepare.
INGREDIENTS:
1 squash (butternut yum)
1 TBS brown sugar
1 TBS butter
pinch of salt
DIRECTIONS:
Cut squash in half and scoop out seeds. Score the inside and spread the butter onto the surface then sprinkle cavity with the brown sugar and salt. To make the squash fit better into a baking pan, you might want to cut the halves in half again… (ie. quarters).
Bake in oven for 45 minutes at 180 C (350 F) or alternatively, bake in covered dish for 30 mins at 200 C and then remove the cover and bake for an additional 15 mins to brown the surface.
