A maple pecan pie recipe, made with maple syrup, brown sugar, butter and pecans. This one takes approx 10 minutes to prep and 40 to cook and then another hour or so to set before your guests can dig in and complement the chef… one of my favorites.
INGREDIENTS:
80g Brown sugar
250g Maple syrup (1 small bottle)
80g Melted butter
3 Eggs
.25 tsp Salt
1.5 tsp Vanilla Extract
200g Pecan halves
1 Sweet pie crust
DIRECTIONS:
1. Preheat oven to 175C
2. Melt butter
3. Brush prepared pie shell with a little whisked egg white
4. Beat the eggs (use the left over egg white too)
5. Combine the beaten eggs with maple syrup, brown sugar, salt, melted butter, and vanilla. Blend well; then stir in pecans.
6. Pour filling into shell.
7. Bake for 20 minutes on lower shelf using fan at 175C then 20 minutes more at 160C
optional: before pouring filling into pie shell, cover the pie shell base with chocolate chips
